Stripped everything off. About 8 coats of paint and a right bar-steward to get off. Yeah I know I should have thought about getting it blasted but hey - that costs money.

The case is full of dodgy 1950s electrickery. Got a guy on-board who's up for rewiring it all with far more modern (and safer) wiring.

After blasting, the case holding all the electrickery and mechanical parts turned out to be a bit rusty to say the least.

Thankfully I've got a mate on board who's showing a great deal of enthusiasm with the project and sorted it out for me.

is your work shop in a london underground tunnel ??

Think you should start a tread in the workshop of all your projects this way you can send the http link to any potential customers. And we get to see whats inside a real 1950 rocket

Not my workshop - it's my mates.

Dunno how he did it but he managed to buy a section of disused Piccadilly line tunnel donkies years ago. Still got the old lift shafts, old advertising posters from the war still on the walls, art deco tiling in there as well. Place is an absolute time-warp!

HI Jem

Just curious about the Electrics on the Rocket,when i see old antiques at auction they have the plug removed and sold as not working,even though a lot of them would work.

Would you have that problem with this? or is it not old enough to have any legal problems?.Do you simply just get something tested before sale like the PAT tests charity shops do? and then away you go.

Never seen one of these working are there any Vids of them on youtube?

Possibly,butchers still have the Life size man outside at some Shops.Lots of the old life size Guide dog money boxes about.One of the oldest traveling fun fairs is based in Bolton,they have some lovely looking old stuff

Steam fairs and tractor fairs are still popular here,when the tractor fairs are on in summer(that fun stuck behind them

) some of the old tractors put our cars to shame the condition they are in
