B body Rob looks the same help yourself when your passing got the hook latch as well somewhere.

Personally I wouldn't get an assembly like that blasted, it's liable to jam up the mechanism and it will be a bugger to get all the grit out.

What Blue said.

Blasting will give it a rough surface as per Mr Norms post. Which will be totally matt, ie not like it was originally. They were just stamped metal parts.

When i did mine, i de-rusted in some de-oxc-C, then plated it.

If there is ANY pitting, it will show, especially if it is at all "shiny". My biggest problem with plating is the pittibg on the parts. Plenty of it too on a UK car!

If it was brown, i found zinc plating it and dipping it in the zinc blackner worked quite well.

Thanks Blue & Roger, agree about the problem with blasting.

What finish did you use on yours Roger - clear or something darker?
