Obviously vinyl is going over the top of that but it makes sense only to top coat up far enough to tuck under the vinyl and if the hood graphics are sprayed on you may as well use up that cheaper paint...

Ash painted a fender on my old Chally and, even knowing it had been re-sprayed, you would be very hard pushed to see any difference between the paint on that fender and the rest of the car. It was a very well crafted match and he sure as hell got me out of a tight spot with it.

Thanks again for your comments fella's
The roof was painting in 2k Epoxy filler primer after it was levelled.
The Hood decals were done in base coat and 2k Matt laq for a stain free finish

bit of messing about but worth it in the long run
