I'm glad everyone is interested in how good Gibbs is.
Saves me asking a thousand questions !!!
I'm thinking of making my truck a bit more ratty but it lives outside.
I don't want to be spending hundreds on Gibbs a year !!!

It works on most metals, their biggest market is the U.S. gun world beacause it lubricates with no residue or stickyness so doesn't attract dust & dirt.

I don't know yet how long each application will last. I've been out hooning again today and it's peed down all day so it's getting a serious test now! I had a bloody nightmare getting home- It conked out right on a Zebra crossing! I couldn't get it going, luckily my wiring expert Jasper came to the rescue and found the ballast resistor had packed in so we bypassed it to get home. Dropped him back at work then on the way home it stuck in 2nd gear! I then had to work out how to get the car in the drive (very tight, on a hill, cars parked everywhere) with no reverse! A bit of a worry, knowing if I misjudge turning, the car will be staying diagonally across the road til I can fix it! Halfway across the pavement it conked out again I suspect cos the coil overheated (which we knew was a risk but had no choice). I got a spare coil out of the garage but when I gave it one last try it started, I got it in the garage with no more drama (It rained constantly through all of this...) So, a couple of new things to fix

I got mine from D&C. They had an MMA discount and free carriage deal on but not sure if it's still available- 2 tins to my door for £27.

One tin easily did the entire car, generously.
Spray it on or into a wad of tissue, spread it around gently and leave a day or two. Once it's dry, wipe off the excess and you're done.
Because it doesn't dry evenly you can accidentally wipe it all off or miss bits, etc. You just need to check it regularly and re-do as needed.

Dave81, if you look under the front wings on the Dart I'm sure you'll see dark patches where I sprayed Gibbs on there as well as elsewhere.
It's not a miracle worker, but its good insurance.
If you have good paint, use good wax, not Gibbs!

Yes can see the dark patches, just thought it was engrained oil etc!

Will get some for the spring, just need to eek out 3 or 4 years of keeping rust at bay as best as i can........The i'll get it painted!

I just went out to check on the car. None of the rain had come off so soaked up what I could with cloths and wrung them into a bucket. I took about half a gallon of water off the car! Amazing!

Well the top half of the car stayed rust-free apart from a few tiny spots.
The lower half though has gone pretty orange now it's fully dry. I'd say it's down to salt getting thrown up by the wheels as the worst is behind the arches. I've scotchbrited, cleaned and re-applied Gibbs wherever it needed it.
So as has been said already, it ain't no miracle but it's pretty damn good considering the car spent the whole day out in the rain, was driven around for a couple of hours on salty roads, then left wet in a garage overnight.

That is pretty amazing stuff and when I looked it up it was made in the USA AND YOUR STORY in the rain , wow you are a dedicated lad for sure

I've had the car 8 years Drew, yesterday was the 3rd time I've driven it so I didn't care! I just had to drive it before winter sets in and the roads are thick with salt & crap
Roll on the spring there'll be no stopping me

I think there are a few of us now Gary that are aiming for spring. Could be a lot of debuts at this years Nats if everyones plans come together!

Great beading on the car DB.........Was the 8 year wait worth it?
