Makes a lot of sense I guess these days, although never my thing, those guys back in the 80's like John Tebbut raced for virtually nothing with their near Stock motors.
Only a measly 500hp from an iron headed 10:5:1 440 like I had would run you into the low 9's in a well built 2000lb car.
with 4.10 gears, 31.5 slicks
60 Foot E.T. : 1.29
1/8 Mile E.T. : 5.83
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 116.50
1/4 Mile E.T. : 9.25
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 145
1/4 Mile Trap RPM : 6,343!!!

Don't spoil it by putting a 318 in it

I might be able to help you here pete I have a full set of altered bodywork in mint condition roy could copy my chassis and youd have a nice one . I know where there is a set of front wheels and a set of weld beadlocks for the rear. I have a funny car body on my car now so dont need it any more speak to me if you want help I know a lot of racers to help you
