Sywell Classic Pistons and props...and racing!
Moderator: Moderators
Spoke to the event organiser today.
There is camping on site for exhibitors as well, they have put a section aside after I suggested they needed it.
Camping over night saturday will be £10 per head adult and £5 per head child, but there are shower facilities so that's not bad, bearing in mind the exhibitors get free weekend entry.
Camping and weekend entry is £70 for a family of four who are not exhibiting.
I am waiting for a revised form to include camping, so I will need to know if you want to camp or travel each day.
PM or post here.
We will have the MMA gazebo there as well to make a club presence.
It's possible that the cars can be taken up the test track but I am not sure of that yet.

I have booked us in as a club, 10 cars each day. I can possibly fiddle it so if someone only can manage one day, we can have some different each day.
I have to put names and reg numbers down so all the above I will put down.
Also I asked about the track action and got this reply which looks very favourable if you want a go on the eighth mile.
Mark Ashman here from UK Street Machines who are running the track at the Sywell Classic, David has given me your email ref the MMA joining in.
Basically we are running a Street Car Shootout display for the crowds similiar to the one we have run at Garys Picnic and Dragstalgia ie heads up first across the line goes through, that being said we have some slingshots booked in and barely legal street cars putting in some demo runs if its load and can put in some smokey burnouts for the crowds you would be more than welcome.
Nearer the time I would need some firm numbers and contact details to set it up and get you all through on to the track but thats about it.

Any one else fancy this weekend, I can still fit a couple more cars in on the club stand?
A race car would be great, especially in light of the e-mail about being loud and doing smokey burnouts.

Ok, just spoke to the organsiers today.
We have a space booked for ten cars. this is a two day event with camping overnight if needed . Longshot is doing this that i know of. Camping is £10 per head for spectators, or you can commute.
I have promised we will have 10 cars on display, it may be that some of you can only make one or the other day, so if someone can only make Saturday, then that will free up a space for someone who can only make Sunday.
I have assumed that everyone who has posted here is wanting to come.
I will be there both days with the club gazebo but no club car, just the daily.
i will try to PM those that have expressed interest to confirm who is doing what, and try to juggle it to suit everyone.
Pete I had included you in the listings as you said it sounded fun, a Lt Gransdenesq event.
Also remember ther is the possibility of track demonstration runs, and we have been sited next to the track, I suspect they expect our cars to run a few times over the weekend. We have been given top spot it seems, over and above the other 34 clubs attending (not sure who they all are).
I hope we can put a good show on and show how good the MMA is!
I will list who I know wants to come and see if there is more space.

Thanks.
In reality Julie and I would rather do just one day (the DRY day !!) and leave a slot for someone else from the club. Is this viable?
Are you allowed to removed the car, or is it like the NEC that once it is in place it must remain there for the whole weekend (i.e. another car is required for the commute, etc)
Will you be down the 3 Horseshoes this Wednesday to discuss?
All the best
Pete
