Didn't take that many photos sadly, it wasn't exactly encouraged
However, did take a few
Sadly (again) St Mawgan is no longer a Military flying station & the whole airside was handed over to Newquay Council & is now Newquay Cornwall Airport, leaving St Mawgan as essentially a survival training unit, so our work load has changed ever so slightly
Cool job mike ,no nights out for me,uk day work only, unless I have to, at least your trucks are new, the 04 plate I drive has just turned 950000k,its done 200000more kilometres than the y reg my boss just sold, ex Eddie stobart ,I get all the spotters taking pic of it ,they often hang about outside our yard ,,nutters
all uk mainly ,average 650-700 k a day ,mainly m5 and m6 had a lot of Manchester Liverpool and warrington lately for Weetabix and backloads to northants area, alot of heavy stuff on back loads like them bricks in the pic ,normally bang on 44 tonne, that motor is a goodun tho still pulls well ,and a comfy bunk for gaining the overtime
Stayed on a site down the road from Newquay airport, last year. Porth Beach. Loved it down there. Them old Scammells will becoming collectable, wouldnt have thought the mileage will be up on them, running around an airfield.

The rd my gaff is on goes down to Porth Beach, I'm what you might call 'local' to the area
The Scammells were very tired, the mileage wasn't great on them, but the salt air had taken its toll, they were getting pretty ripe towards the end, some units still use them, notably St Athen, where a couple can be still be chugging around, peddling their wares.
I get some killer runs sam ,I done kettering to Gravesend ,reload felixtowe then deliver warwick and back to kettering the other day ,I was 10 mins off my time ,I would be better off with nights out but the rates are Bananarama!,id rather keep gaining the hours and we get paid on backloads too
