Nats failure

Yes with you Dave, I know the cam was smaller but the comp cams guy said it was taking all the bottom end away
So with expert advice ?? I went smaller to get the bottom end back a bit and the motor has no probs making power upstairs ...in fact its unreal
So thought it would do it.... as the bottom end on the Crower was bad almost no existent
still I also didn't wring its neck as Pete said like I did with the Crower...as I didn't have the torque or bottom end grunt
so HRD its getting it.

You should have advanced the crower to work with your small motor and heavy weight. Spin it higher, how high depends on your bottom end.
Lots of rear gear and stall. my Dart is more than 12.5.1 and i mix 97 oct with 116 50/50.
If you ran 12.0 at 118 mph, then your 60ft times must be bad, so maybe work on loosening the front up.

Totally agree Dave/Mick...my 60, s are appalling
also had the front end set up by Geof hauser and fitted 90/10 for the Nats 60's stayed the same ??
Just not enough torque
so will now try 3000+ launch for HRDs and then the strokers in might even get it done for the Hot rod Drags if poss

Shes been a good ol girl that 383 ....
Never been apart for any reason even to check the bearings in 15years, yes 15 years of racing ...
she just seems great so I leave her, ( If it aint broke, don't fix it), except cam changes.......oil goes in clean and out clean.
She revs to the moon and back and to be honest has been superb, thousands of miles of road use and raced and ragged with no complaints...so time to retire her I think
