It is often easier to specify what is NOT allowed and there by dint anything else is ok.

If you try to do it the other way you will end up in a world of pain trying to Detect, Police, and enforce it.

I think Duncan is right on the bars... 1 down, "x" to go..... :read2:

Pete when considering the rules you have to first consider the cars that are already out there THAT RACE.....Too examples Tigs ,,a monster moter in a fairly stock shell ie frame connecters caltracs etc ,,,,,what does he run 9.9 ish ...so apart from that monster moter he is fairly stock...Ian Brown Camaro small block car is gutted , wall to wall lexan and fibreglass. ladder bars..runs 10.3 with a transbrake,,,so from that you would say the advantage is the engine not the weight ....I do not have the luxury at the present time to say only cars with stock moters and stock insides no transbrakes etc .....the owners of them cars do not race they lick vins....so we have to work with what we got ...a bit of everything and the dial in levels you all out ,,,,, Look at the cars that entered last year ,a good mix and in the final we had Rob Tyrells coronet , the front seats in that are more comfortable than my sofa...and Simon Parkers Camaro another gutted out small block car ,There was 2 tenths differance on the dial in if i recall ,,,so again big moter verses light car ..... its best not to over think it Pete ,just turn up with a car that gets you in and enjoy it ...

Pete there is no breakout ,,,if you want to run 8s with almost stock suspension ,,,well good luck with that ...I do not see anyone going quicker than 9.5ish with the cars we have entering at the present time ...Your Dart is sweet for it ,,,

How do you know who's won then if it's not heads up and there is no breakout??

Confused of Cambridge here

I am clearly missing some thing here.....I go up against Tig in my 11 second Dart and (no surprise) get mullered. Where's the incentive???

To that point, does that mean my AWB "T Bucket" (Pre '74 design Yank) is eligeable???

There is already a class that fits that criteria, it's called SS and has been running at york for years.
At the second to last SS round, this year, there was 28 cars entered and would have been 29 if this guy's charger had a shoulder belt.

? its not heads up its a brackett class...if you think the dart will run a 11s you have to run as close to that as possible,, if the guy in the other lane has a 9.9 dial in you will leave first and he will run you down ,,,,nearest to his dial in wins ,,if you both go quicker than your dial in then the one who breaks out by the least amount wins ,,,,,Simples
