Thanks for your well wishes gents. Got 2 weeks till results but feeling optimistic.
Still can't get over the cabby yesterday. Really choked me.
The hospital is a very humbling place. Every single member of staff is amazing in my eyes. So to have a working man donate his fare out of the blue was touching.

That's a great gesture.
When I worked for Samuelson Film services I used to do an evening every week for the kids at great Ormond Street, showing films and film series for those poorly kids.
Then lug the gear from the childrens ward to the nurses and doctors cinema to show a couple of films for staff that could attend, all FOC
I did that for a couple of years
All as part of my giving something back, as I was very ill as a child and had great care taken of me by the hospital

that's very true Dunc, the nurses and carers etc work their socks off for a mere pittance purely out of dedication and because they usually love their job, and then don't get the recognition they deserve ...... and well done Steve

Don. Thanks mate. I will let you all know results.
Steve. It's amazing how many people have had or no some one who has been treated at Ormand street. It's people like you who " give something back " that make it the fabulous place it is. Good on you mate.
It was probably the only time in my life I felt so helpless and scared. The only way I could show my gratitude during my stay was to keep feeding notes into the tea and coffee donation jar !!!
Hopefully still drinking it on me !
I agree the nurses are underpaid and as said they do their job more out of kindness than any thing. Wingless angels !
