Well someone has saved you a lot of hassle, money and hunting for conversion parts!! :thumbright:
When I was looking to buy a Dart, I knew It had to be a 1973 one to get the spec I wanted.More modern parts similar body(apart from the front)
I had been looking for a while, this one ticked most of my want boxes.
It was supposed to have a sure grip,that was another tick box, but when It arrived it has an open diff ! But I don't think you would find such a rust and accident free one,in a hurry,I am amazed at how it is under the arches arches and floor,no mud just dust,like new. Problem is do I use it in the Rain ?
Good stuff....Cheecky buggers swapping it out prior to sale!!!! :roll:

Be prepared, as a SG unit with decent gears will be circa £500 for a good working one. £650+ for a rebuilt one!!

Whats the goal with it JD? Strip or street....or a bit of both??

Giving the guy that sold it to me the benefit of the doubt, he only had it a couple of months, I think he just bought it to sell on, he maybe was told it had a sure grip, and passed the info to me !
I am looking for some heads, a intake and a 4 barrel 600 or 650. I have imported a comp cams XE 268H cam kit, and I have already got a 2500 stall converter.
I want to build a quick 318 to start with,just for street,with potential for strip, 300+bhp

To make 300hp from a '73 8.5:1CR 318 which is 150hp.......you'll need to up the CR to at least 9.5:1...preferably 10:1, a pair of eddy ally rpm closed chamber heads, which will then work well with the CR and have a lot of future potential for hp and be a good investment. You can do it with open chamber iron heads but you'll have less CR.

With that done....your cam, an Air-gap intake, headers, holley, you should get there. You'll have to work out which way you wanna do it, but you won't do it without the CR...unless you go forced induction.

And them wheels look good!

Les[/quote] Hi Les, thanks for the input.I'm still doing the MOT registering work at the moment.
I don't know about you, but I tend to collect parts along the way, as I find when you really need them they are top dollar, but if you buy as the parts as they come up , they are more reasonably priced.
I have a long list of parts needed !!!!!!!!!! :lol:

I've had the 2500 stall converter for about 8 years, now I have the car to put in on.
