396ci .700 lift roller, dome pistons, full port alloy race heads, they must spin that over 7000 and i bet it's got at least 5500 stall.

Yep 6000 stall, shift at 8000rpm.....no suprises, in true A/SA style...get ready for some of the same Pete!!......

Also did you notice he shifted into neutral just after the traps....I guess these boys know what they are doing, maybe they have a special trans?...but never do that on a stock type built trans, firstly it will overspeed the drum and cut oil to it as the pump is driven by the engine = possible grenade!.....not good.

You can get a special valve body that has another neutral after high gear so you can knock it out of gear and kill the motor after the lights. The reason is to avoid stretching ally rods by dragging the motor down, one of the biggest reasons for them letting go apparently.

I thought it was always a big NO NO to click neutral at the end of a pass ?? :?

I thought it was forward pattern 123NR....Coan do them i think ...sure i read that somewhere ...I know they push them to the limits on the revs and they get them of the revs ASAP ... 7500 8000 is the norm for these moters

2 Neutrals Gary, one is a safe neutral that lets you do that.

Pattern goes PN123N, You get reverse by pressing the transbrake button in the first neutral if I remember correctly.

Yes Blue, we have to use the transbrake button to engage Reverse on the A&A Valve body in the Barracuda.

The "last" reverse was originally introduced (I believe) to prevent load on early alloy Rods on the over-run at the top end - this was thought to reduce cycle life before they sorted out the metallurgy. The Bill Miller rods I have in the KB can apparently be used on the street.

I don't know how the one in the TH400 works yet    , I am sure it will be the same.....

Pete I think the th400 had a "proper" reverse but it's been a while,
