What a damned shame Derek after all the hard work you've put in. When I saw that 300C performing I thought that might just be the writing on the wall. Any one of us could have done that (well except Mr. Runner due to the weight factor) but no, it was done by non members, so why should we suffer? Hope you get it sorted mate :(

Of course there are other car museums .... But I cant think of any better/more suitable/more interesting.

The RAF museum at Hendon isn't a million miles away (still London-ish) but is obviously more aerospace than car oriented.

And last time I went, I think it was still free to get in.

Whether they charge clubs to use their car park, we'd have to check. Could ask the Muzzy boys as they have, or used to have a meet there in April.
Not sure they could accommodate 100+ cars tho :? Not sure if anyone could, come to think of it

Similarly, Bletchley Park, nr Milton Keynes could be another option. Not exactly a car museum but they do have other car clubs using the venue for meetings.

But I'd still rather keep it to Brooklands if at all possible, even if I have been going for 10+ years

This is a tragedy I cant believe some disrespectful b.a.stards could do something like this. Hopefully the Brooklands management will reconsider by next year.

Maybe start a petition to reinstate the event with a clause banning the 300c club, im sure if this was put on FB and the internet there would be a huge amount of support.?

I knew there would be some repercussions after seeing cars doing burnouts !
Brooklands is a fantastic place and a great venue for our club gathering.
I personally will be gutted if we lose it.
Yes we all love a burnout. But not in a bloody museum ffs !!
Perhaps the only way to save the venue for us would be members only plus invited guests who would have to show a pass or something ? At least this way we could inform all guests to respect Brooklands wishes.
I hope the people involved feel some remorse and perhaps try to make a formal apology to Brooklands.
If I can help out in any way Del ( petitions etc ) don't hesitate to contact me.
Just hope this gets sorted.

No chance I'm afraid, they've lost the plot, cancelled my firework night that I've been putting on for well over a decade at just a months notice last year, 7000 very disappointed people

What about London Motor Museum?
Or Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon? Huge Parkin area and loads of big car clubs use that.

Just a thought :thumbright:

Eco the thoughts of everyone else on here, its a few idiots who ruin it for the rest...
But Im with Derek on this, let things cool down for a while and try again..maybe making it a classic mopar meet only...I know its nice to see other motors-rods as such...but....

I know the London Motor Museum. There is not a lot of room for parking there although Im sure Elio could try and accommodate us...but lets keep trying for Brooklands...give it a while...

This is a big shame that this happened, and tarred our club name.

I am sure that the committee will consider all options and see where we go with this.

Very sad to hear this...

I think it is worth pursuing again once the heat has died down and the Management understand that it was not anyone associated with the club.

Gutted for you, Derek.......

I'm drafting a letter to Brooklands management outlining several points as well as a list of things we intend to implement to prevent burn outs etc to see if we can get this ruling overturned.

Derek & I will keep you updated.

So sorry to hear this Del, it was the venue that capped such a great event. All like minded people (supposedly) enjoying a wonderfully historic venue whilst edulging in their passion of the Mopar world. Then a hand full of scum suckers take it all away from everyone. It seems to be the trend throughout life now and everyone has to except it. Mad...................Wheels Day, Brooklands, and poor old Chelsea cruise under threat......... whats next?
With Daves idea of Longcross Studios it does have a motoring history all be it coming to an end very soon. The company Lisa works for owns it and she could possibley have some influence there if it was deemed a possible alternative if all really does fail at Brooklands.
Again so sorry mate.....not only for all your hard work...but for all our members.
If i look confused...........i probably am.

Maybe its a bit of scaremongering, want to see us grovel a bit before overturning it, can they afford to lose that amount of money it must be quite lucrative?
