I think ordinary choke cables are to thick to go inside the original sleeving.

I emailed the Speedy Cables in Wales to see if they would sell me some wire or how much they'd want to repair it.
Rather not post it though, hence the appeal of a place in Banbury.

Even better would just be to find some WIRE!! How simple can you get?? (Apparently - not very!).
Also whilst mowing the lawn I looked at my Hayter mower which also uses solid cable - forgot to measure the diameter so I'll do that and pursue that avenue too.

Man sometimes it's frustrating how much time the simplest of jobs take
