I fancy something with some light restoration work. Be nice to get something that you could drive around I straight away but where the fun in that.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I have been watching eBay and the forum. I just missed out on the 440 challenger last week. That would have been ideal for me. Just the right amount of bodywork too. Le J'ai J'the

I've been onto budgie already, I just need a couple days to try get the extra couple £k together. I'm racing his eBay listing: -)

Is the 318 a good engine?

Its the baby engine but can be tuned. Is the Barracuda I put a link to, not to your liking sir?

Its nice but little outside my budget I'm trying to stick around the £10k mark or ma i being too unrealistic.

The 318 is the smaller of the gang but remember that you will want a useable car, yes fuel economy and muscle cars do t go together but big blocks of 6 and 7 litres will drink like no tomorrow.

My 318 sounded sweet, motivated the car but didn't kill my wallet.

Size isn't everything............ :D

Personally Budgies car is a spot on car for you, ticks the light restoration box, won't break the bank on parts as it shares a lot with other platforms and is an honest unmolested car.

Talk to budgie, he might do you a deal !

I've been exchanging a few emails with him. I'd love to take the car off him but want to get the rest of the money in my hand before trying to do a deal. Don't want to mess him around.. I'm owed some money if I get it in time I'll try buy his car

Welcome to the club! :hello2:

You've come to the right place for help and assistance.......

From what I have seen, £10k won't get you much in the way of an E body. Think Budgies one is probably then most complete one I've seen in over 12 months.

As for light restoration.........that's subjective. My version of light is different from the guy who is bringing the Chally back to life on the build thread..........

I hope whatever you get, it ticks the boxes.........just be careful that you don't get one that needs a full resto........whichever you choose, you'll end up doubling the purchase price before its done......ask me how I know........and I'm not even 1/3 way through....... :thumbright: :D

I know all about it, relative has a '69 440 charger. We stripped for light resto 3 years ago 😄😄😄

Knowing what you want the car for is the first step.

Do you want a car to race? Then you want a big block but they come at a price 20k+ then there is the engine build another 5k+ depending how far you want to go.

Do you want a show car? Lots of time and money depending on the condition of the vehicle and months or years of not much enjoyment out of it, unless you enjoy that sort of thing.

Do you want a car just for the buzz of driving a mopar and a little resto whilst still being able to enjoy driving it? We call that a rolling resto, we like.

Rolling resto is where I'm at. Something that won't take years to get enjoyment from

Think he said it's outside his budget Newport....is the 10k the budget for the car or to get it rolling or finished or what?
