I used the 1/8 NPT hole for the temp sender and #3 hole for the electric fan switch.

No2 is 1/2"NPT, the others are 3/8" & the likkle ones are 1/8".
Parralell, tapered, BSP or NPT threads actually almost any combination will work in sizes below 3/4".cos there's so much variation in nominal sizes, the way their machined, thread length, the different materials etc.
I got all those nipples & plugs in stainless if you need em Will
