thanks for the input fellas, drew, 20-50 morris golden oil (british brand been around since the 20.s) oil pressure (hot) 40 idle 75 cruise and flat out carl, this is a solid cam not hyd, valves wont bounce at that rpm unless they proper knackered,headers have new gaskets and sealed well :thumbright: dave, galley plugs clear, i have wondered if using a thick valley plate rather than bath tub gasket acts as a box and amplifies valve train noise ?? ive done around 200 miles in this so far and hasnt got any worse but no better either, before nats i will fit new plugs anyway and double check pushrod clearance

Some flat tappet cams are just Plain noisy Jim,do tappet clearance as cam card :thumbright:

thanks dave, i did set them 6thou tighter. cam card says 22 i went down to 16

That is great oil, I didn't see that you had solids, and yes they will make even more noise with the lift in the cam,drive it, and see,It should stay together ,run it ;)

Alloy heads on a steel block requires 0.006 tighter than steel heads when set cold.

Only my headers aren't sealed as good as your right now :lol:
