I use Brost Forge all the time.
When I did mine I added a leaf and now mine is nice and stiff on the rear but still compliant.

Do you mean you used Brost Forge to add the leaf?

Brost are a couple of old school blacksmiths, they can make springs from scratch, re temper, add leaves, re arch, whatever really, been doing it for donkeys years, I've used them a few times and am happy to recommend them. Not many places left these days doing that kind of work.

Do you take the car into Brost first to show how it sits now and discuss how much of a raise. Then take the car away to take the springs off to take to them to be worked on?

I normally measure the car at the wheel arch then jack it up till it sits how I want it and measure again. I then take the springs in and tell them the car needs to sit x amount higher, that usually works out nicely.

Ok thanks. Do they have polybushing for the springs or would I need to get some in to give them to fit if I go that route?

Something I hadn't thought about is the position of the shackles at the moment, I'm not sure what's correct. If mine are not, does moving them have any affect on height? This is mine now

Unlikely. you will need to buy and build the springs up

you will need to buy
spring clips
the front spring eye bushes
the rear shackle bushes
the plastic sliders
the zinc inter-liners (or make them like I did $120 per side or 16 quid on 0.7mm zinc sheet and some time with tin snips)
and probably a new bolt for through the springs. some are bolted some are held with a press through stud

Mopar U bolts are flat in the U with a waffle pattern to grip the tube they are supposed to be tightened to something like 35 or 40 ft lb (check the manual I can't remember exact figure, many get tightened way more and that ruins them)

standard U bolts are round they tend to be tightened to 60-70 ft lb

70 ftlb will irreversibly stretch the U bolt. I don't know if 40 ft lb will....

70+ ftlb on a round U bolt can dent the axle tube

views differ based on use of car in regards to when you need new ones, its always better to be safe than sorry, but careful checking will dictate you next move.

The shackle is sitting like that because the springs have sagged, it will sit more upright once they are sorted. You will need to get your own bushes, if you want poly you can fit those yourself easily enough.

Ok thanks, so is it just the front bush that needs pressing in?

Poly front bushes are normally 2 piece with a sleeve, you can normally fit those in a big vice or even with a soft faced hammer. Rears just push in by hand.

Ok, thanks Blue
