My assumption was that any changes to gearing and brakes etc could always be reversed back to stock therefore not affecting its value. ??
The plan is to keep it for many years and use it in Spain during the summer and carcoon it for the winters.
I must admit to having zero knowledge about any of this.
I literally googled green vintage muscle car and a day later bought this.
I had never even heard of Plymouth

yeah they can in most cases
trouble is the modern transmissions that would be ideal to fit usually involve cutting a huge chunk out of the middle of the suspension mounting cross member under the car.
weareas the gear vendors unit (like a stronger version of the laycock overdrive used on sunbeams and jags)
bolts up to the back of your current transmission and gives you an overdrive ratio on all of your current 3 speeds
i.e close ratio 1st 1st over, 2nd 2nd over 3rd 3rd over
and it fits, its a true bolt in any parts taken off can go back on again before you sell
you would need to get a spare tailshaft cut to length.
i have never heard anyone who purchased one complain that it was the wrong thing to do or a waste of money
other option is manual gearbox but that involves welding even if you fit the standard 4 speed
over drive sounds best

Thanks for the replies, very much appreciated.
so this quote is not at all what i want and will include cutting and welding?
Monster mega a518 transmission good 400hp/450ftlbs $2250. Core$ 600. Unavalible transmission from mopar performance p5249166 $1650 core ? Convert $600 for either .also need adapter kit $550 for both
What is the cost of doing the overdrive as detailed above and also cost and thoughts on the disc brake conversion please.
Thank you

there are club members who do transmission work professionally (full time) or in the manner of a professional (on request), there is a bit of work to fit the overdrive to the transmission.
brakes
many kits for disk front end on mopars, some better than others.
my car has factory disks so i can't really recommend a specific kit as never had one.
all comes down to the right peddle ratio and bore size of the master cylinder.
you can do it with OEM parts off other models.
i don't think you need rear disks, trucks have drums

so can we....
you can retro fit the ECU pressure pulse unit and master cylinder off a B van, and have rear anti lock drum brakes, but its a bit of a fiddle
new hubs rotors and wilwood calipers/Wilwood mounts for drum spindles would do you fine
get the wilwood calipers with the rubber seals
think you should have dual circuit master cylinder. you need to pull the residual pressure valve out of the port for the front brakes
you own a 68-70 B body mopar
i.e dodge and plymouth B body cars for these years, are all the same under the skin, apart from any option the first owner wanted
each company had 3 or 4 price points, they called the B Body model at each price point something different, and just varied trim and size of engine to match the customers pocket.
a Satellite a Belvedere a Road Runner a GTX all have the same body and general mechanicals
so when looking for parts B body is key.

Whereabouts in the country are you? We have several members that work on these cars for a living and would be more than capable of advising and carrying out the necessary modifications.

Its now being shipped directly to spain so all mods will be done stateside over the next 3/4 weeks.
Is the gear vendors option 100% reversible or are there permanent modifications needed too?

Yes it is, you remove the original transmission tail shaft and bolt it on. It does require a shorter propshaft so just get a new one made and you still all your original parts to refit, no permanent mods are needed.

Thanks Blue
I actually just called the company in California and Rick Johnson was so helpful and knowledgeable. Amazing customer service.
