My thinking is.....no reaction = no interest so don't bother. Don't want to bore the ass off folks.
This is a problem, I'm often interested or amused by a post, but don't tend to reply unless I have something to add. I like Blue's suggestion of a 'like ' button for that reason !
:iagree:
I wouldnt have bothered adding this yesterday

Just to add my penneth worth in , I , like others have noticed a lack of posts on the site in recent months, and more have moved over to face book which is fine. However I do feel that once the summer is over , people start to drift back to their garages there will be more going on, therefore more posts etc.
I have owned many mopars in the past , and have found this site invaluable , hell I own a blimin chevy now and still get a lot out of the site.I will not be going to FB as there seems to be to many messers and it is just not for me, sure it works for others but I am happy to steer clear for the time being
I visit the site most days and like some here don't feel the need to post unless I feel compelled to do so, as I appreciate that most don't want to know the ins and outs of an Impala (my current ride) , but this is a great club and I will continue to be a part of it, but going forward I think it would be great if there was a like button so at least those who do post know it is being viewed.
There is still interest , there is still life here, and a future.
best wishes to all here

Matt and Pete are on holiday at the moment with little internet access so may not be able to respond. While I don't want to pre-empt Pete's announcement in his Chairman's bit in the imminent Connected, this was one of the main items of discussion at the Committee meeting at the Nat's. Work is currently in progress regarding this.

And yes it will be good to get member's ideas and suggestions, as whilst I'm working on the main framework, additional features can be implemented. For instance I can look at the possibility of the "Like" feature.

I do generally read the latest posts every day, and contribute when I have something to say.........unlike FaceAche of course, where the idea is apparently to contribute when you have nothing to say :D

I likely would not be interested if we went to FB - just too much dross to wade through, it sucks up time like a Dyson hoover and gives very little in return (unless you like adverts and timewasters  ). Just my opinion, I know millions love it...

I think a lot of people are on hols right now, probably pick up a bit soon, I'm happy to pay my subs for continued use, quantity is nice but quality is better....

I must be odd because my mind doesn't work that way, if I post something and nobody comments I don't assume anything and carry on regardless.
I've been on this forum for probably 20 years now and trying to get more of the membership active has been a constant thing in all that time. It always has been a small group of people that make up 99% of the content here, not always the same people I might add. Blimey we were even called a clique at one time! the inner circle was another accusation, people are strange on this planet...

Guy, Most of us here have a general interest in things American I'd say, so Just because you are a second class Chevy owner don't think you don't have the right to post here, hell we all love an easy target

I like to check in most days, I would hate to see the forum die away. In 2012 when I bought the Roadrunner it was this forum that helped me build it, this forum was where contacts were made and pushed me along. As a result of this club I now have new mates who are willing to help out and I can help them and anyone else with my limited knowledge! FB is ok for pictures and stuff, but the forum is still way better. If the posting of pictures could be made easier that might encourage more threads, but again this is beyond my understanding of the mechanics of the system.

It's a shame we have to have this 'conversation' every now and then on here, but going by how quiet it is sometimes, recently, it's not surprising. I do think it's largely down to Facebook tho - as it's another, and free obviously, way of connecting with like-minded peeps.

We've always had the odd few who come and go because they feel it's a bit 'cliquey' on here or because they feel they've been unfairly treated, but they are so few and far between, they cant be blamed for the down-turn in contributors, imho.

We spoke to one of our dearly-departed members at the Nats a few weeks ago (it was only there that he said he hadn't renewed) and he's one of the regular posters on UK Mopars on fb. He's chosen to just go for the free option of using facebook but he has also made the odd comment in the past about feeling it was a bit cliquey on here... I've never seen it myself - maybe i'm a bit more think-skinned, or just a bit thick!

As for contributing, we should have an update soon on our Sport Satellite thread; as some already know we have an engine on the way over from Koffel's in the States :D When that arrives i'll start doing some updates... or even start a new thread as the old one lost all it's pics when we had the great forum crash a few years ago

I'm not a frequent commenter but I do check posts 2-3 times a week depending on what other stuff I'm juggling.

First off we have less people in the MMA than other car clubs. So by numbers alone the amount of traffic is less. In my experience I was surprised by the comment about spiteful responses - at one time I had a Mustang and made about 6 posts on their forum before I realised what the culture was like there and never posted again. I genuinely have not experienced that kind of thing here and I know that action has been taken when certain lines have been crossed. Just to throw in a positive example check out Dave999's posts - always helpful and informative, if I had his knowledge I'd be posting more than I do.

Some people that have/had a huge amount of technical knowledge are either no longer in the club or not contributing for whatever reason and once some of the frequent posters go it leaves a huge hole.

For many the issue of resizing photos on the current forum is a real turn off and one reason why they do go to Facebook - I am not going to bore you with what the committee discuss but this WILL be sorted one way or another in the next few months.

Please keep faith with the forum. I think it was entirely appropriate this thread was started and people are commenting so please continue to chip in ideas and thoughts. As Drew says it is well worth fighting for.
