That reduces Caster, so they were not necessarily the most stable cars in the world without modification.

having seen the bronze chally a while back its certainly an awesome car, being the car it is prob does lend itself to a wilder paint job, but whichever way is it goes its a hard looking car for sure

Maybe you can lift the colour a bit with some Vinyl signs or scripts.

That would make it stand out a bit more, I know what you mean; but it in its own way is still an historically important car, so would be a shame to change it in a radical way.

That era of pro stock car had the front as low as possible to cut down on frontal area for improved aerodynamics. The rear had to stay high until a rule change allowed the use of coil overs instead of leaf springs to allow the cars to sit much lower, that was late '72 or thereabouts. From that point on pro stockers never looked like modified street cars again, for me the golden age is '69-'72, just love that era of pro stock racing.

Shame its not legal for the NSS class,to me that car,and a few others are what the class should aspire too,not the NHRA rules,were you have to spend 30-40k on a engine to Bracket race.

I don't think NSS will ever go the NHRA route, we now realise that would just turn it into a very expensive class for an elite few, no good reason to do that IMO. Many people can't understand why the rules are as they are, why it doesn't line up with how they do it in the States or even Europe. It has had to evolve the way it has due to the peculiarities of UK drag racing regulations, existing classes, and certain event criteria, things that are beyond our control. The committee strive to make it as accessible as possible for the maximum number of racers but we can't please everyone unfortunately.

It's a real toughie.
Pete Walton learned how hard it was to allow "exemptions" to race and that it is a slippery slope.

If you permit Back-halved cars in the "UK Nostalgia Superstock" Class then in essence you have created another "Pro-ET" Class, and there is nothing to differentiate the Class.

I think the car is fantastic and can't wait to see it run.

I agree, white paint or vinyl like the "Heavy" or "Billy the Kid". Whatever you decide Dunc , it's a welcome addition to the Mopar scene. Maybe a touch of candy over the brown. Chris

Whenever I get a bit jaded with yank car ownership, a thread and a car like this turns up. Fantastic Dunc, I like it as it is. Period cars just have something extra.

Decisions decisions - I agree that the brown is not the most appealing colour....but factory paint, it would be hard to think of repainting it being such a survivor. I'd be inclined to leave it mostly as is......but whatever you do it's a fantastic car and will still be...
