I bet there aren't enough hours in the day to look at all these cars there, and there are some beauties there for sure.
Thank you for sharing your photos here I love them and it is making me think about going
Thanks I heard there were around 8500 club cars there for the weekend plus (or including?) 700 race cars and we only saw a fraction of the circuit. Matt & Co got to visit the museum on the Monday as they were on the later ferry, so there's that to see too
The event is usually every 2 years but it's on again next year if you fancy it. I know Matt's already booked

If you have ever considered going , and been in two minds about it , take it from those who went , it will be the best event you have ever been to , and if you get the chance to take your car around the circuit I can strongly recommend it ............. an experience like no other .
taking your car only adds to the fun and if you don't , you wish you had , and its so easy , the roads if France are a total pleasure , and the tolls are very easy to get your head around , not sure about others but about 5 / 6 hours from Folkstone on the Channel Tunnel for us , and all the other cars that are on the road at the same time just make it a huge classic car show that's moving in the same direction as you and everybody is just for the fun .
No problem from the French plod , in fact they escorted me from the camp site into the track area , and were entering into the whole event .
Just do it , best car weekend ever

Then while Andy fulfilled his duties on the BBQ I took a wander 100 yards from our camping area, to attempt to catch the Group C qualifying.
Not the best photos but i was still about 200 yards away...

One regret of the weekend was that we didn't join Matt & Co later on the Friday evening, on their drive out to Mulsanne for a meal and to catch the cars on the famous straight and other cars hooning around the local roads
But as our chauffeur wanted to chill at the track and drink beer while we still had some ice in the cool box - not a bad idea, granted - we made do with watching the racing from our camping area and also further along the circuit just as the cars enter the Mulsanne straight.
That bend turned out to be a good vantage point for photos as it's close to the track and if you stand on the inside of the bend you can see over the fences, so returned there Saturday morning, in time for 'Plateau 4' - cars from 1962 to 1965 ...

Then at around 8pm I noticed from our tent that the class with the 'Olympia' Charger was on track again, so i grabbed my camera and attempted to get some pics again, albeit from long distance. This class is known as 'Plateau 6' and is for cars from 1972 to 1981

Later that night... around 2am, we went down to that bend that leads onto the Mulsanne Straight and whist the others stayed on the outside of the bend, I crossed over to the inside, on the raised grass bank to try and get some shots that showed the heated disc brakes that we'd seen on a few of the cars including a couple of the GT40s.
Not as easy as I thought it might be but some of the blurred pics look kind of interesting, so here's a bunch of them anyway

Superb photos. Thanks for sharing. Silver Pantera, Gran Torino and white Charger look great.
That white Mustang fastback with red strips (photo 5 on page 1) was brought over from the States by a mate of mine.
He sold it at Brooklands auction a couple of years ago for £22k. Someone got a bargain.

Thanks Mark & Simon, praise indeed coming from yous two
We decided to call it a day... or night, after that Plateau 5 (GT40, Lola, Chevron etc) race finished around 3am.
When we woke around 8am on Sunday, they were out on track again for their 3rd and final race. A nice way to be woken up!
Although the track action had been non-stop since 8am on Saturday, it was due to finish around 4pm on the Sunday, so we headed off for another look round the paddocks and to see if we could get another good vantage point to see some other races.
