That's right. For some reason '70 up E bodies and '71 up B bodies suffered more from rust than the earlier cars. I gave up buying rusty cars a long time ago. Both of my E bodies are rust free, and thankfully so is this Road Runner.

This car really is in remarkable condition. It has 58,000 miles which i am sure is genuine. and the body is faultless, - so is the interior. It is very unusual to find them in this condition.

Put that together with a Hauser built 440 with Edelbrock aluminium heads, Hooker Super Comp headers, a 3" Flowmaster exhaust system and new Hemi front and rear suspension with Hellwig rollbars front and rear, you can see why i love it to bits. I am looking forward to terrorising the elderly with this bird.

Congratulations Jim - I've always liked that car. Didn't realise it was FJ6 - the best colour for a 71 IMHO. Do you remember this one at Columbus last year? It must be on your video...

I just realised that your car isn't the one I thought it was - very similar reg fooled me. Also this one was for sale at the 2004 EuroNats.

Jim, I was flicking through some old back issues of Classic American in the bath last night (as you do) and saw (what most certainly looked like) your car for sale. It was the August 1998 edition. (I think it was August, definately 1998 though).

Said the car had been subject to a 5-year resto in Florida.

Will get more details of add if you like, but it was a dead ringer of your car.

That sounds like it Clive. It came in from Florida in 1991.

It was featured in the Oct/Nov 1991 issue of Mopar Muscle magazine while the car was still in Florida.

Oh blimey - my senior moments are becoming worryingly frequent  I thought that car had a 6 pack?

Anyway, here's another one of that FJ6 car, this time from the 2002 Nats.

There is something about those back wheels I just dont like on that green car. Too wide.

I always thought 15 inch Rallye wheels on the 71 B Bods just couldnt be topped (from an originallity point of view). The steelies are passable, but not with Carlos Fandango's on the back - sorry.

I agree Clive. I don't like the wide steels either. My car will look exactly like that one except for the wheels, - mine has 7 x 15 Ralley's.

I am thinking of getting a set of 18" or 20" shiney's with 35 series wide tyres. That's what they're doing a lot Stateside now, - if the stance of the car is right they look great.

Eh? One minute it's NOS or nothing on my cars and the next we're talking full on bling? Have you had a bang on the head Mr Wilson? :D I eagerly await your further posts on full on sound systems and underbody neon (in green of course, nothing distasteful!)....

He he, now maybe Mr. W will treat his hemicuda to a set of them 20 inch polished rims with the hubs that keep spinning when the car is stood still

I cant see that.

Back on thread: I am getting a real hankering for a 71 car these days. I think they look fantastic, and you just dont see them about that much. The trad B Bods from 68 - 70 seem to be all over the place these days. 71's are very refreshing to see. I love em.

71 Charger R/T 440+6. What a car :D :D :D :D

I don't know what it is, but the 71's are really turning me on! I like 'em best now.

'Tell you what Blue... when I saw the code FJ6 on the fender tag, I really wanted it. I actively pursued this car.

This Road Runner is going to look just right: Sassy Grass Green, with Black Strobes and Air Grabber. It's gonna look stock (except for the wheels if I don't use the ralley's).

I haven't made up my mind about the motivation yet. I am very tempted to put a Hemi in it. 'Problem is it already has a very nice Edelbrock head 440 which if I keep it, will have an arm installed to 500ci. Either way it'll run 2" Headers and a 3" exhaust.

It'll stay red for this year though. It drives so well that I might as well use it this year, and do all the work over the winter.
