Sorry Tony, it was a long shot, I know  but I had to ask!

We've always mounted white letter tyres with the raised white letters on the inside (well, 2 sets, I think) cos, personally, and I think I speak for Stu as well, RAISED WHITE LETTERS ARE NAFF!

Unless they're original equipment style like Goodyear Polyglas...

IMHO, JM2CW :mytwocents:

OUCH!!! Thats harsh mate

I like RWL's on wheels meself. I find it hard to say much could look naff on a car that has a stick-on woodgrain dash and white vinyl seats with red piping, if you know what I mean :D

Yeah, bit harsh maybe!

Could just about put up with BFG or Goodyear RWLs, but it's the obscure brand tyres that I wouldnt be seen dead with.... SUPER WIDE TURBO NUTTER RADIAL....etc etc especially on something that's otherwise stock looking. I think they're just too fussy.

And adding RWLs to a car with a fablon dash or red/white interior would just be the straw that broke the camel's back

Sorry Tyreman, rant over!

I think

Eh? Thought you meant ours!! (Satellite - Fablon, Polara - red/white vinyl. Guilty as charged)

I was trying not to be mortally wounded, but realised it is a bit garish for some peoples taste, so wasnt too offended!

Havent even seen yours Clivey. I love white interiors tho; makes the interior seem much more spacious. Have you posted any pics?

Opps, getting hijacked again! Sorry.....

When I bought the new "BF Goodrich Long Trail Radial T/A" tyres for the Jeep just before Christmas I asked for the white letters to be put on the outside. I could see that the fitters all thought that was naff.

But I think Jeep Cherokee's are as American as silly loud golf trousers and so I think it suits that look. Plus the name of the tyres is so silly and American (and long) it makes me smile every time I look at them.

But even though the Challenger has BF Goodrich Radial T/As fitted I have the white letters on the inside. The look of the Challenger is high impact enough without resorting to tasteless tack. :)

White lettered tyres were as naff as flared trousers in the late'70's so we all turned 'em round, now they are retro cool so show 'em with pride!

I've always mounted the white letter on the inside on previous cars. But things have changed, I do like the letters T/A spelled out on this one.

By the way Tyreman, can you help me with some sites featuring real good pictures of 71 Dusters (A-body in general?). I'm about to make a poster/flyer/invitation for my club's Muscle Meet this year. I was asked to use a car celebrating 35 or 40 years now. Any ideas ?
