Lovely car Tony, looks real mean :twisted:

I imagine you had a grin from ear to ear bringing her down from Scotland..

Promise to get some pics of mine up soon, but here is one of the '71 Roadrunner I had back in 1988 before it was painted a lovely Renault yellow colour, bumpers and all. Looked a bit of a mess.

Paul.

Great Roadrunner Paul 8-) do you know if it is still around today?
I wonder if anyone has a picture of mine before it was a Petty clone?

matalic blue might have been B5 or B7 with a white strobe stripe across the roof . colour coded bumpers . i think it also had colour coded steel wheels with dog dishes , like i say it looked mint . i remember thinking thats rare :scratch: a 72 - 340 with a 4 speed , i will have to dig out the photos. can not be sure but i think i saw it in red a few years later at the pod .

Thanks Tony... Indeed I can tell you what happened to my '71.
I was on my way to work, late I might add. I stopped on a steep incline, jumped out, ran across the road to the shop for a paper. When I came out of the shop there was no sign of the car, I looked down the road and there it was heading backwards towards a bend in the road. It was like something out of a comedy show..
On the bend was the gable end of a house with a light post just in front of it. I started running down the hill but the car was picking up speed all the time, there was no way I was going to catch up with it, then.... Wallop, it wrapped itself round the lamp post which was lucky as it stopped it smashing into the house.. :oops:
Alas she is no more and looks down on us from Mopar heaven [-o<

Cheers according to the tag its TB3 Petty Blue(rare) wondering if this tag is real or a repo? i have some history from the states that proves it is a real Roadrunner Manual and there is plenty of history since the car came into the UK in 89....i have no build sheet as yet

I have a pic of the fender tag attached

properly the same but i have that colour as ( basin blue) looks the same ish on the colour chip . not too familiar with 72 Lynch road tags , but all the 69 /70 tags i have seen have a random crimp mark on the top right and or a letter A or something punched through at the top , inspection stamp i believe. it originally had a black canopy vinyl top( V8X )
and a black transverse sports stripe (V4X)
Dave / Jim i think would be you best bet on the tag

we did the decode already ! it is Basin/Petty blue but I think Tony is worried it may not be an original tag, if I make the cruise tomorrow I will be able to see better.

I think the Car was metallic Blue at some point in its life in the UK
But maybe? that was a repaint? and maybe one reason it was made into a Petty Clone is that it started its life as Tb3 "Basin Street Blue"just like the tag confirms?
i decode the tag as N42 Duel Chrome exhaust tips
R11 Music Master AM radio(still has this)
V8X Transverse Black stripe
END end of codes
V4X roof type OR color Black canopy vinyl
U USA built
M21 roof drip rails
M31 belt and hood mouldings
N23 Electronic ignition(72 only)
N41 Duel exhaust w/o tips
TB3 Basin street Blue(aka Petty Blue)
C2x9 trim grade style color C=Charger 2=vinyl bench X9=Black
TX9 upper door frame Black/Black velvet
706 built 7/06/72 435323 order no
E55 340-4bbl
D21 heavy duty 4 speed
RM23 R= Roadrunner M= Medium 23=2 door hardtop
H= 340 1-4bbl 8cyl
2= 1972
G= St Louis,MO,USA
219090 production line number
Thanks for your help :) i will see what i can find out about its past history

Yes it was metallic blue with steels and dog dish caps, imported by RPM I believe. Was a regular at shows in the South East, then disappeared to the West Country for many years. Always liked that car, 340 4-speed 72 Beepers are rare indeed.

I have some pics somewhere, but don't hold your breath!
