Few more for you Andy & a little update
----------------------------------------------------------
Had another opportunity to call into Jon's today (
Webster Race Engineering)
As usual, really pleased with the quality & overall progress on the Cuda that Jon & his Team are doing.
Big Thumbs up also for their friendliness & willing to discuss any concerns I have, answering my queries & giving technical advice.
Also a big thanks to Ian for the umpteen cups of coffees he's made during all my visits.
Also had the opportunity to have another look round RV3, which really is a fantastic looking piece of kit, with an attitude to back it up as well
Also had a look at Wayne's Pro Mod vet, those BAE Fatheads are absolutely massive, I imagine the ports could swallow whole kids

:D
Back to the Cuda . . .
Still waiting on the Stainless turbo collectors to finish of the exhausts, but should be arriving any day now.
While waiting for those to arrive, Jon has now installed both waste gates (There Blue, but won't be for long
Accusump also now refitted, budget can't stretch to a dry sump at the moment, along with remote Oil Filter
Nice to see how the package looks with the front on the car

Great Stuff!
In earlier pictures it looks like the transmission is exposed (or inside the car).
What is the set up and the regulations on this - how do you stop fumes getting in the car?
Do you actually have the transmission covered by tin and it is currently removed?
I ask this as on my Roadrunner it would be easier to tin under the transmission...thanks
Pete

Pete,
Transmission is inside the car & yes it is fully exposed. The case is SFI approved & sanctioned, it doesn't need to have flexplate or case shield.
There is a removable (Dzeused) panel which goes underneath, to stop stuff coming inside the car, this removable panel also covers the flex plate/converter from grime etc.
For competitive racing, the case needs to be covered with tin work or similar, as I only play it's not needed, although I may cover it it at a later date

Thanks for the reply, I would like to see a couple of shots of the belly pan at some point - it must be quite hard to get it to seal with the firewall....

Dunc,
Believe it or not, I do have a budget & also I had a good breakdown from Jon on what the costs were likely to be.
His prices are not that excessive & equally comparable to a lot of chassis builders in UK & considerably cheaper than some engineering shop rates I use through work.
Without question I do adjust the budget on a regular basis. I would love to have gone dry sump, but have other items to get, which have a higher priority, maybe I should of worded it differently.
Thanks for the compliments & yes when their spooling it should be quite a ride.
Not expecting to set the world alight initially, as more stuff for me to learn, F/Inj & Turbos, Spooling, Boost control, launching, you know how it goes

Just to add to what Dunc says- i think we're all a bit jealous mate, but also proud of what someone in our club is achieving with their little Mope
We're all itching to hear it fire up and see it come to life

What with working in Leeds, Germany, USA the last few weeks, haven't had a chance to call in to see progress on the Cuda.
Did take the opportunity of collecting a couple of bits for Torque Converter upgrade.
Excellent service & advice from Marty chance
Hope to get the car home soon from Jon's. Ideally the move will be to my new house. Car will then have to take a back seat for a while, while trying to settle in.

Gimme a break
Okay, took the opportunity to call into Jon's today. Cuda is pretty much done from his perspective, apart from the Turbo to exhaust flange. So far, they have supplied the wrong part 3 times now, so agreed to get some made.
No big deal, as Jon created a mock up part & used this to finish the exhaust, Turbo to exhaust flanges will just slip in.
I am well chuffed with what Jon & his Team have done for me
Ice Box - Now complete with screw lid (Boat Spec

)
Throttle body now installed
Throttle Bracket - Jon had a spare bit of Titanium, would of been a shame not to have used it
Heres a few of the exhaust
Yes, thats Billy 'The Kid' Camaro in for some work at Jons.
