Yep used Raptor several times , extremely nice finish when fully cured,
However the tinted version looks rubbish,
The original underneath would have been Red oxide,
And maybe some anti stone chip in the wheel houses,
If I could get the Novol 360 in Oxide I’d definitely use it,
But seemingly only available in grey?
But it’s far to complicated to use a coating in unfamiliar with!

I’m not bothered about “originality “ I use my cars all year round so I’ll probably just go Raptor,
Protection over show boating every time!

I done a XKE a few years back and the underside had to be as good as the top side,
Totally a waste of time ,

That sounds a great way forward. I think black looks great and red oxide just looks unfinished in my opinion. Im like you, our cars are for using and mine gets used all year round too (except when there is fresh salt on the roads). You will do a cracking job whatever you go with.

I walk straight past cars that are over restored at shows and go for original and cars that are used and have their lives on their faces everytime

I appreciate it’s a long time, but the results show it was worth it…

At least now you get to enjoy working topside for a while

You will quickly forget the time and effort as its such a good job! If you had rushed and cut corners you would forever be reminded of why you should have put more time and effort in

It all looks perfect and very, very well done....a credit to your professionalism and skill. I cant wait to see her done and thanks for keeping the pics and updates coming

Decided to lip the arch , generally the quarters are solid and sound, however the was a few tiny pits and it’s virtually impossible to judge how far the corrosion has penetrated the steel, so belt and brace approach necessitated a new edge and arch lip,
This needs to be as filler free as possible so if the arch is scanned it will just show a paint/ primer thickness,

However polyester is part and parcel as far as body refinishing goes and some filler will always be required,

There’s also another reason for doing my arches
As I’ll be able to either roll them or just cut them down which will give me a tad more flexibility with rear tyre width
Past experience has shown me tyres often clear when just two up and rub when carrying two in the back
So want to avoid this if possible!

i've got one of those arch rolling tools if you want to borrow it mate. i used it on my 68 valiant to roll the lips and i also pushed the rear arches/quarters out about an inch and a half. i got 295x50x15's under the arches which normally isn't possible on an 'a' body. i'm only in faversham if you want to try it.

I do like the Black Satellite 440 6 clone,
The TA is a life long obsession and I love the old girl
But still a Mopar aficionado at heart,
These a few nice B body cars currently available,
A straight Satellite/GTX on poverty steels and Dog dishes
Is a sight to behold,
