Looks like that valley pan will fit B and RB engines.

Yes, pan fits both flavours. You have to mock it up and mark the the holes to join the 2 parts in the middle. It comes with some big self tappers to hold it together. I'm still working on getting an Indy valley cover to fit, but we ain't there yet. Steve, that is an ally spacer in the distributor hole to allow me to use my RB tach drive distributor in a B block.

Blue if you can clamp those bits of sheet together i can mesure them and sort your indy plate to suit, with all the work you have done i cant allow you to use that.

El Turnipo had one of those bolt together valley pans (the sheet steel one, not that sexy bit inGavin's post). What a pain to seal.....

I'm sure Trev can knock one of those up, still not cheap no doubt, but less pricey I'm sure, or just stick with a regular one piece, two piece is a good theory, but generally bad in practise.
Blue havent forgotten about scrapers, just not had much time this week, but will sort out next week.
Engine build up thread is good & informative. Think you made the right choice with regard to the oil line/sump.
My old B1 was for ever draining back, if I left it for more than a couple of days. Less of a pain, as I had belt drive dizzy, so just a matter of priming the pump.

I guess sealing is the main reason that pricey tray has an o-ring and is so thick! It's a piece Andy Finkb has just introduced (ARE Eng'g) he reckons about $250! ouch. Also it is only avaialble for Indy heads right now I think so would still need to be modded or wait for another version.
I agree - get Trev to knock one up, not really sure why you'd really need a two piece anyway?? I did see one guy with a transparent 2-piece.
Anyway, it's all looking good - I know you planned this properly Blue, def the right way - do it once, do it right, and get something where all the parts work together instead of fighting, to get max perf and max bang for buck

This is my favorite thread while having a cup of tea.
Talking of Indy as a company..
A good mate of mine in the US took his 440 six pack to them because he was having a top notch restoration on his V-code Challenger done and wanted "the best" for the engine too along with some hidden high performance mods.
He and his brother asked to see the boss at Indy (I forget his name) and he refused to see them. Instead he sent a lacky out who told them "We don't work on Junkyard engines".
