Yep

Bang on 7000, had a 7000 chip in there and took it all the way, was shifting at 6500

28" tyre so I do need to change the gears but didn`t have time before weekend. I already have 4 11 which in theory should give a top speed of circa 130 mph

I do not trust these " online " calculators though and prefer to do things by trial and error ... 1 modification at a time

Well done Jon, those limiters drop cylinders early so you may need to turn that up a bit ;)

THANKS FOR ALL THE KIND COMMENTS AND ENCOURAGEMENT

It does make a difference and helps during those moments when you seem to be going backwards with the project.

:thumbright:

Next stage is a new lightweight Kirkey seat and mounting frame, roll cage padding, 4 11 ring and pinion and replace the Detroit Locker with a Eaton Truetrac

Then out again onJjune 18th for final testing and set up

Just doing the final few bits and bobs to save weight

1 - Wilwood rear drum to disc conversion
2 - Detroit Locker to aloooooominum spool
3 - Mini starter

This lot should see approx 60 lbs weight reduction and get the car around 2300 lbs without driver

;)

Also making a torque strap

I would have thought the drums were lighter than the Wilwood disk conversion...but what do I know of all this new technology?

Next you'll be drilling holes in the glass! :D

Small slant 6 drums work well. They do not drag like discs do.

They just don't stop the car as well as discs do (should).

Right, it's out with the hole saw on the body then Jon...slant six drums...I have a set of those and they are going in favour of disks...evenb if they are a bit heavier...
