Ya know I am in the middle on that, I have another grille that I want to do something different,as there are alot of color/trim options
,but for now it makes the wife happy,I am already in the dog house for the color,
she wanted blue, then silver, then back to blue,
I put my foot down and did black, so now she wants as much silver/argent as possible. the tail panel will look different that this , I want to do argent on the flat panel, and also use the factory tail light grilles I had these painted to see what it looks like ,I like it, but the wife thinks it is to much darth vader

Yea back in the day 1996 when I did my challenger, parts were not available like they are today,
like the door handles, they were badly worn as well as all the trim so I powdercoated everything
,now for instance I bought brand new door handles for $125.00 , the tail light grilles $ 100.00 they look fantastic , so with the large amount of parts out there ,I am gonna go with a mix of trim ,some black some stock,
I kind like to have some contrast, my challenger it almost looks like the car was painted with out masking off anything, like it was dipped, and there for some of the detail gets lost, so with the cuda we will change things in a subtle way

I have been trinkering with the Fury today but got too cold so guess what I did???
I poured a large Jack Daniels and coke, put the snooker on on the TV and have just spent the last 2 hours reading your thread again from start to finish.
I have to say Drew, this is the best thread I have ever read. Its fantastic, your car is awesome and the standard of your work is beyond perfection! I love the fact that all of your pictures are pin sharp so we can all see EXACTLY what you have been doing and the techniques involved. I have learned loads just by reading and studying the photos very closely.
Great work Drew, thanks for sharing this and taking the time to put photos on etc.....inspirational and makes me feel like my work is very amateur (it is!!) compared to what you have done!
Cheers Steve
PS That 71 grille is killer and I love the shot of the roof in wet primer....can see why you are over the moon with it

Ok the windows are on hold, I need some small parts to make the locks work better,I will post up later.
But I did find a part that is not available, the clips that hold the Gran Coupe rocker moldings, these parts are usually thrown away or rusted so bad they can not be reused ,and that is the case with mine. and then I see cars with holes in the rockers.
The rocker moldings are very rare to these cars they look like vents , I like em so I have been on a search for a way to mount them, and I did manage to find a forum that had a guy that found these trim fasteners, with a little modification they will work great .

The holes in the rockers for these mouldings are ideal for pumping waxoil in for rust protection.

Yea I put por 15 while it was on the rotisserie, and spun it round and round, and then followed by 6 cans of this while there was a hole front and back before welding those holes up

Ok ,next thing got the rockers painted, and got the hood back.
I used well nuts to fasten the hood pins, rather than ugly pop rivets.
Worked very well, and they will stay in place .
The hood took about 2 hours , we had to reset the whole front clip, got things lined up using the prior small holes drilled in the hinges, make for easy line up.
The hood came out alot better than I expected ,very happy about that, and when the wife saw it she was stunned.
