Just put the screen back in my auss charger,it went in fine using the old method with thin rope, however fitting the locking strip was a right pain

Heater switch panel, mine is a VJ like yours. The dash is standard on VJ I think, fish scale type.
The two silver knobs have a small allen key hole underneath, remove these, knobs slide off, then the three screws at the top of the dash panel undo and the whole dash will tilt forward from the bottom, once you have unscrewed the speedo cable. the heater black plate bit with the words on seems to be held in by the little brackets that the dash tilts on. They are a spring clip thingy with two screws holding it to the dash insert. The dash sort of needs to wiggle past the sticking out heater controls but there seems to be enough romm to fiddle it towards you.
Once it all folds forward you can get in to do most things as there is enough movement in the wiring loom.

Have you spoken to, Dave ?
I am in Manchester Wed/Thurs, then away at the weekend again.
Jav'n'daboys are talking about Eglinton on the Sunday. I was thinking of trying to crash the cruise on the Saturday if the weather is good. Either cutting them off at the Park when they leave and tagging on, or finding out what their destination is.
Ian and Paul are coming over with the 9.15 @ 155mph street legal Firebird, so may swing by mine en route to the show.
