I'm sure I'll still use them for the next batch of stuff that I need to order.

Went to see John today to have a natter about the car and give him some pennies. We have decided that he will now do the rear end too so we left his workshop with a little, (erm ok not so little), shopping list. Just got to find the pennies and get another order on the go.

No photos to add this time as they can't do anything else until the sill arrives but now we have agreed this then they will start cutting it up a bit more to send to the blasters, (once sill is done), just to see how bad it really is under all that filler. (which I'm dreading) This won't be a show winning car. All I/we want is a straight solid car to drive on an almost daily basis. Anyway not much else to report at the moment. We are going back next Friday, (week tomorrow) and will hopefully have some photos of it cut up or being cut up

:D

I think you have made a very good decision there Tanya, while John has that car on the jig, and the problems are there to be dealt with, its right that you buy yourself peace of mind. Mechanicvals can be fixed later but get John to sort as much of the body out as possible.

Nice one :thumbright:

Tell me about it. John looked very happy when I told him today. He needs the jig and this is holding him up. We are going Friday so hopefully the bits will be there and will have something to photograph.

Stu wrote:And a slippy slope too. I remember thinking the /6 was fine for just cruising about. A handful of runs later and the wallets are empty and there's 2 V8's, an 8 3/4 locker with 4:10 gears in the garage. And it hasn't moved since...!

Had a call today and the bits I ordered are finally in the country. Yippee. They just have to go through customs then me pay them then they continue their way to John's place. It was late when he called so won't be till the morning now before I cat the call. Phoned John to warn him and he told me that the cutting up of the back end has begun. Should make some interesting shots when we get there Friday.

Well the parts arrived safely. John has indeed started cutting the car up and the amount of filler and glass fiber in it is shocking. We knew it would be bad but we had to laugh when he showed us or you wouldn't believe it.
Anyway here are the latest photos of it cut up and what we have found.
