I do not think the MMA runs the event, someone must though?

The Nats and the MMA have their roots inter-twined, but in essence the Mopar EuroNats is run by a specific group of people who also happen to be MMA members (and post on here!!)
It is not run by the MMA but we clearly do have a presence at the Show, and long I hope this continues.
I sincerely hope that the MMA can raise its profile and get to more Key Shows and events and hopefully attract new members. This is most certainly my personal goal.

I know its nice to see other makes, but I feel for the mopar owners not getting enough time to race due to the other non mopes there.

Non mopars all other make muscle cars are welcome that is what the mopar nationals evolved in to years ago its the faster racecars that i object to, object maybe thats to strong a term but if in the end it dilutes the mopar presence then thats a real shame, but this year is certainly not one you can judge by due to the weather forecast for the weekend as no doubt at all that kept plenty off mopars/musclecars away,,,,
but it is still the must attend event for me and if the pro racers keep it alive so be it
Thanks as always to Tony O , Jimbo wilson, Rich berry and Tim mr nostalgia Hlomes you boys work real hard Thank you,,

My Nats didn't quite go to plan due to my leg but it was still well worth the miserable slog down the M6
Had a right laugh with my Mopar mates, saw loads of stunning cars and watched some great racing. I hobbled what seemed like miles and I'm aching today.
I was sorry to miss Les once again, til next year mate!
Shame about the weather but we got one good day. I'd have been hacked off if I had managed to get my car there!

Considering the 5hit weather I reckon the one day I was there was great
See all me mates, talked a lot of crap, see some great racing.
I ain't knocking any racing, those promods are Bananarama! awesome!
A lot of street cars got track time, Pod staff couldn't be faulted on that seein as how they had to squeeze 3 days of class racing into one at the same time
Well done MMA and Carl & rest of Committee, you done a good job

That's a good point Ade, I think the Pod crew skipped their lunch break to give more cars an opportunity to run....
.....I have to say (maybe a bit controversially) that I looked across at the fire up lanes and at times they were actually quite empty; it seems to go in fits and starts.
However, what people will remember is the slow start on Saturday due to the fact that one lane was shut due to safety reasons and that is after they started drying the track at around 08:00 that morning....a great effort by the Pod crew.

Exactly Pete, the water table on that land isn't great, as soon as the sun comes out & temps rise it all starts to draw up as it expands, it's got nowhere else to go.
Even the oil downs were sorted super quick! All classes run thru fast and slick and all was good and plenty of MMA members got plenty of track time.
I don't agree with the Mopar only comments, that's just silly, you got a muscle car of just a sweet yank then you're welcome, that's how it's always been.
They done good

A damn good event spoilt by the weather. If Friday had been ok I would have had a few runs, but Sat was always going to be busy after that rain.
I guess if it was Mopar only there'd be about 70 cars and drivers there
Something struck me here this morning watching live feed, the left lane that caused wet problems had a river for most of it's length in it's centre 1//3 which means it's going to be wetter and also must have a dip in the centre of the lane for most of it's length.

There is a dip. FT and ProMods can watch their revs go up momentarily as the pass over it

Only went the Saturday, after last year I felt the period muscle car thing which it used to be all about had been overshadowed by the other classes which although great fun I did not wait year round to see at what was primarily a Mopar and muscle car event although maybe way back when. One can defiantly say a Pro Mod is muscle for sure but not the Street/ strip type which are normally 9 sec to 15 sec full bodied cars.
This may be hard to see for those who never went to the earlier years.
It is probably due to what Santa Pod want more than what we can have and they cant turn down good business and I understand that.
I think a lot of Muscle cars especially of the mopar persuasion were not there, not just ones that raced but show cars as well that have been there over the years, maybe the weather who knows but things have certainly been 'watered' down.I do hope they return.
What really matters is a lot of people get enjoyment from it and that is OK by me.

I reckon the lower turnout was definitely due to the very poor and unfortunately accurate weather forecast....I know at least a couple of people who didn't bring their cars as a result. That is totally beyond any control and the organising committee and track crew deserve a lot of thanks and credit for putting the event on and dealing with the conditions. This was the most affected Nats in the ten years I've been...even in the downpours of 2009 we never lost so much time. So in one sense it shows how lucky we have been all the other years. It must remain as the event to get to so I expect to see the numbers back up next year......only if the forecast is fine and we have three good days weather but with a low turn out would I be worried.

JMO but the pod needs to make a profit and mopars and rwyb's dont bring spectators in but promod and top sportsman do. As regards the lack of mopar muscle, a lot of people dont enjoy driving their cars a long distance in miserable weather due to poor wipers and inefficient heaters and others just need the weakest excuse not to take their car somewhere.
The lanes started off very full in the morning but as the day wore on the queues were quite short and the pod crew were getting cars through very quickly. I had 3 runs, nearly 4 but could have hot lapped and had 6 or 7.
I'd also like to thank the organisers for their hard work putting this great event together and everyone i bored to death over the weekend.
