Hi Chaps, thanks for the comments

I didn't know the video had been uploaded

MCK sneak that past me,
The garage rang me to say that a push rod has let go' taking with it a roller rocker with it

thankfully no more damage, so waiting for replacement parts to arrive, not the sort of phone call i wanted.
So i can't pick the car up when i get back from Manchester this weekend

But should be still ok to complete the dyno set up, and race at the Nats, more updates soon

I'm just waiting for a phone call to go down and pick the car up

and hopefully know what the engines putting out, still a couple of jobs to do before the Nats but if i get the car this week end it shouldn't be a problem, next post hopefully in a day or two

OK next update,
After the car was put back together and given a run up, I got a phone call late Friday saying the car wouldn't rev past 3800rpm
Checks on the Sat morning showed even with the carbs i have maxed out with the biggest jets they'll take, the carbs just couldn't keep up, so i had to bite the bullet and UPS over a two 800 Edelbrocks, there being shipped straight to the dyno garage, and fingers crossed they'll arrive and work out of the box, they've said they'll do what they can to get me racing at the Nats, so i've got everything crossed and with a bit of luck for a change, hopefully i'll get the Bananarama! down the track!!

I'm not surprised, you engine looks to be a similar spec to mine. I had Pro systems custom build a pair of Holley's to my engine combo, they are 780 double pumpers, it loves 'em!

OK Here we go with the next update,
After getting the two larger carbs sent over, and after fitting the them, they strike up the car to check everything, strange noise on cranking, stop the motor and take off the rocker to have a look if another Roller rocker has got the arse, but this time its a valve, WTF somehow the skirt has broken off and now its in the bore with the piston going up and down
To be honest its all i need at the moment, so do i now trust the rockers and the same now goes for the valves, a bad batch
Anybody had anything similiar?
Do i now just get a whole new roller rocker assembly and valves?
Obviously i won't be at the Nats, but i will see some of you at the HRD's if it kills me

Parts don't normally break for no good reason. The only time I've ever dropped a valve on a new engine was because the exhaust valves were too tight in the guides. I'd be looking at valve to piston clearance, retainer to guide clearance and valve to guide clearance. Not to mention coil bind. When I got my brand new Edelbrock heads that Indy cylinder head had worked on, all the valve heights were different, one was way out, turned out to be an odd valve that was longer than all the rest. Had to get that lot sorted before I assembled the engine. What rocker arms are you using? what is the cam spec? do you have the correct springs for the cam? I feel your frustration....

RV3's demise turned out to be exhaust valves too tight in the guides and sticking.
That ended a bit more seriously tho

Oh s***!
Gutted for you.
So the seat dropped out- never seen that before, unless it was knocked out by the bust valve?
