I managed to get some work done on the front chassis & bulk head in between the adverts.:D
Moved the ladders in shot again, to ensure Andy doesn't miss them. ;)

I have mainly been removing surface rust from chassis, from where the car was sitting in the damp old garage.

Made a few plates made for filling a few unwanted holes, once there in, can start priming & painting after a clean up.

Got a bit bored on chassis cleaning, so drilled a few lightening holes here & there, to break up the boredom

If you're wondering about the jack, its to used as ballast, to hold the front of the car down. Whole car is virtually balanced on the 2 rear axle stands, I took axles stands out for the photos.

Been away in Geneva, only got back last night, so not much to report. Plus a few irritants, means I am jumping from job to job.

All surplus holes in bulkhead now welded up & filled in readiness for primer. I was hoping to start priming up today, but needed a fitting for the compressor. I have ordered one now, just a pain having to wait.

Motors also on hold, as waiting for more main bearings, should be here early next week. Never ran coated bearings before, I know bearings have not been pre prepped ;)

Trial fitted new hood, more work obviously to be done in the fitting area. I was more interested to see how it looked.

Pretty sure it will go down like Marmite, either be hated or liked, good job I like Marmite :D
Hood is from Dale at DRE, pleased with quality, plus I have a mould if things should go tits up :o

Thats OK, Mk1 Hood is in the parts bin, with the rest of the Mk1 Stuff, so it can always come back again ;)

Been a while since the last update . . .

Motor - New coated bearings arrived & have now been fitted & crank is in. Not too much messing about & clearances are where I want them, so pretty happy.

Also ordered some new coated Con Rod bearings, although I think I could of used the old bearings, there were a couple of minimal marks, so decided not worth messing around with for a sake of a set of bearings, at least this way all bearings are now coated.

Heads are currently at Marc Lamudes for a freshen up, new valve guides (Steel/bronze) some new valves to replace the damage from when I leaned out & did piston damage, plus machining valve pockets for the bigger springs. Excellent service, spoke on Friday, dropped them off on Sat :thumbright:

Actually been starting to put bits back on the car, instead of removing for once. Fronts painted, not JPC Quality & has a couple of Kevin Petersons, but nothing that cant be flatted out. But left it at the moment, so finish is straight from the gun.

Now playing with wiring & I mean playing

Heres a few pics . . .
