More great work, amazing how much time is consumed on what looks like simple brackets. I sure some folks don’t realise how long it takes ....

Thanks

Yes I'm sure there's probably 2 1/2- 3hrs machining in the shocker stubs alone and a whole day in total adding in the fabrication and welding.

Another spell on the lathe today.
My year of Charger was supposed to have had a rubber "Rag Joint" between the Pot Coupler and the steering box, this was long gone and had been replaced with a bodge of 2 discs probably made out of conveyer belt. This meant the column had been moved down closer to the dash and the steering wheel rubbed on the column.
Research online found them to be hard to get and if found rediculously expensive. On some stateside forums there were suggestions of using a Hockey Puck as a substitute, apparently it is the same size, I did buy a Puck. Also found a firm that sold an Alloy coupler for $120+shipping, so I turned my own instead.

Pretty sure wearing a tie whilst working on a lathe was compulsory in 1913
Love this build thread to bits and I reckon when you are done it will be one of the most "must see" MOPAR's this side of the pond. The detail and quality never fails to impress.

nice solution
if you get vibration in the hands that becomes a PITA Aussie valiant ford and holden all used a rag joint
the kits are not too bad on the expense front

Cheers Dave definitely cheaper than the stateside stuff

The years before mine never had one so hopefully it won't have too much if any. Mine also has all the rubber mounts for the K Frame that earlier years never, although I'm replacing all that with Poly.

Trying to get everything sorted for the trip north next week and Pete's advert for a torsion bar adjuster in the "Wanted" section jogged my memory, I had a feeling one of my bolts wasn't too healthy.
So back onto the lathe and turn down an 10.9 tensile M16 bolt of a suitable length to the required diameter and rethread to 9/16 unc. Since I didn't possess 1 1/2 inch Die holder I had to make that as well.
