a very conservative set up.

Can`t see it going any quicker ???
What was the set up on the 9.8 run? , could well be more in it without hurting anything.

Got my new Bogart rear wheels yesterday ; superlight at 10 lbs 1 oz each ... thanks Blue

Get them on this week plus a few other minor mods

Hoping to get to either Shakespeare or Santa Pod last weekend of this month to work on the final tune on and off the gas to see what this car is really capable of

;)

Then pack it away for the winter

I bet they make your wallet a bit lighter too! ;)

Crikey, they look thin, Jon

Presume they're ally or similar, and not steel (tho they look chrome plated). Dont go near any kerbs with them fitted!! :?

A pot hole in the road would kill those never mind a kerb. I wouldn't race at York if I were you.

Ivor .. they weren`t too bad, in line with weld etc

They are a strange construction ... made in 2 halves ; back half out of billet turned alli and then welded onto the front half with the weld covered up with silicon sealer

Dave ... not been to York yet, will let you know if they survive

Just in the process of building up a second axle so I can test out a new ratio, as I am currently leaving 500 - 700 revs unused at the top end in top gear.

Currently have 4 11 on a 33 spline spool but will try out a 4 22 ratio on a lightweight 28 spline spool I have

If the 4 22 ratio shows an improvement then I will swap the 4 22 ring and pinion onto my Strange 33 spline set up and stick with that

Have done some sums and look forward to trying it ;)

Should pick up better Jon :thumbright:

Almost ready for another year

4 22 ring and pinion in ... should improve 60 ft and bring all gear shifts sooner so I can carry more revs through the top end

Nitrous solenoids upgraded to hi flow ( support up to 250 hp )

Comp Eng rear shocks changed out for Ranchos

Cold fuel system in

Bonnet trailing edge lifted another 1/2" to let air out the engine bay

A few weight saving mods

It may well go slower ???????

If you make it any lighter, it will blow away in a strong wind.
Good luck

Hi Jon, well I certainly enjoyed reading all that, your a clever chap. I can't remember exactly now going back through all those posts as to what exact engine set up you got but I think your 11.3:1?....I reckon there could be an 8 in that car with 250hp.....

To this day I still am shocked at what my old 340 ran with a 250 shot, I only ran it once and had to double check the timing slip to make sure it was for my car, but from a current best of 12.4 on motor to 11.01 was truly staggering, and no probs, maybe the car was a bit better than 12.4 best and the extra torque helped things along, but 340's certainly like the gas.....Good luck to you...Les

Thanks Les

Changed the fuel regulator diapraphms ( spelling ?? ) as 1 was leaking by.

Changed the Holley red top to Holley black top fuel pump

Will now reset fuel pressures using a calibrated pressure guage ( calibrated to + - 0.2 % ) with 1/8" NPT and start fine tuning at Gary`s Picnic

Have uprated the bottle valve and solenoids and jetted for 210 HP gross so it`s a bit of a hybrid system now ( Sniper + Cheater parts ). Running a seperate timing circuit via a window switch with 9 degrees taken out.

;)
