How much do you reckon the tyres can handle on the hit Jon...

After fuel pressure problems at Nostalgia Nationals am changing the fuel system - was struggling with nitrous fuel pressure anywhere from 3 to 5.5 psi.
Existing alluminium tank will be reused with 2 weld in bungs going in at bottom ; 1 will be used with the current blacktop pump on /10 to a new Aeromotive regulator. The 2nd bung will be used with my old redtop on a /10 to a new Aeromotive regulator to feed nitrous line.

Not sure what fuel your running Jon,but if your going to have two separate fuel systems 1 motor,1 gas,you could use a separate nitrous fuel supply cell.
Maybe use something like c23 in the nitrous side, might allow you a bigger margin of safety..
Just a thought

well 5.5psi would be ok constant but if fluctuating from 3 thats a bit close to the edge as u know Jon.
I am old fashioned as you know as have not run anything for a long time but..... all these new switches/gadgets and gizmo's, could be in themselves causing a lot of hassle where there may not be any without some of them. Getting back to some old thinking that worked may help?
I ran the stock tank on the 340 with a blue Holley pump and seperate line for N20 petrol, maintained a constant 6psi with no fluctuations, ran everything on that Cheater setup from 125/175 and 250hp N20 with no problems at all, no tipped plugs, ever, 10:5 .1 comp.

I`m old fashioned too Les
I know what you mean, but pretty sure my current problem is down to the size and position of my fuel pick up.
Was testing my new ratio this weekend ( keeping an eye on revs / 330 - 660 + 1320 seperation times etc ) and still managed a couple of 9.9 sec passes using only 2nd and 3rd gear, so pretty sure once I`ve got the fuel lines sorted it should be tickety boo and ready for the big one
p.s. .... you at the Nats ??????

yes mate, ....I'll be there to see that 8.80
ps. just reading your engine spec....why only such a small carb Jon with 408ci?...or is it a special?
Mine loved that 850dp..............ran slower with anything less
I made Steve Green try it with his then 3.5 rover Cortina and it went quicker which he said it would never do, said it was too big.......should've seen the grin on his face, didn't wanna give it back

Determined to sort this fuel pressure issue !
... am pretty sure the current single 3/8 outlet is not keeping up with fuel demand ??
Existing tank has come out and I have welded up the fuel outlet and vent on the top.
Have fitted 2 new -10 alli bungs near the bottom at rear and am using a vented cap with rollover valve to let air into the tank.
A second -10 insulated fuel line is going in with redtop pump for NOS and blacktop for carb. Each with its own aeromotive filter and aeromotive fuel pressure regulator.
Just hope it stops raining

That was fun !
Had the car 4 years, made 90 passes
1st ever pass : 15.34 @ 83.68 mph
Best on motor : 10.543 @ 125.51 mph
Best on NOS : 9.844 @ 134.04 mph
Now being stripped for parts and ready for someone new to have a go
A sad day

shame
