I don't recognise that, is it like a brass disc or something?

The one top right is probably a Shooter gasket.
The other looks like a Float Lock screw upside down, cannot really tell from the picture.
There will be lots of "spare" parts in a gasket set that you will not use as they are "universal" which is code for "Fits nothing!!"...

Not 100% sure what it is Blue, but think it’s fibre and got some sort of adhesive or sealant on it.

Top right one wasn’t meant to be on the pic, sorry!

you are right though, it is a shooter gasket.
It’s the little round disc that’s got me confused.

Next dozy question… should there be an o ring or something around the fuel bowl sight plugs? Doesn’t look like there was in the photo from when I took it apart, can’t tell from the diagrams, but the slight recess in the outside of the bowl suggests there should be something. Can’t find a perfect fit in the kit, though. Closest are the ones below .

Ah, well. Defeated by missing parts, shan’t be doing any driving today.
Came to the secondary metering block and the gaskets in the kit are completely wrong. Old ones on the left, remaining ones in the kit on the right. Looks like someone may have swapped the block at some point, but leaves me without the right bits.
Looks like it’s time to tidy up and have a beer in the garden whilst ordering yet more gaskets…

I seem to recall your carb has had a secondary metering block conversion so the gaskets will be wrong, it would normally have a metering plate which doesn’t have replaceable jets.

Yep! That looks exactly it. Guessing I’ll need to order the gaskets same as for the other side. Am I right in saying it’s effectively been converted to 4150?

Yes uses same gaskets front and rear. 4150 also has metering blocks back and front but other than that it’s a very different beast to a 4160.

Cheers. Some more reading to do.
Really need to sit down and work out if what I’ve got is what I actually need for what I want!
In the meantime, I found this in the kit, which looks very much like the disc we we’re trying to to work out earlier…

Still don’t recognise it! Is this a 600 carb?

Fine for general use but 750 would be better for all out power.
