What about them K&N filter tops? Do they catch fire?

Never had a K&N catch fire. Those Edelbrock things are dangerous, the "filter" is a piece of foam which gets soaked in fuel vapour, held in place with a plastic skeleton frame. It will catch fire at some point, they are rubbish, throw it away now.
