Hell, it's not even in the car. I Have a 4 Speed trolley at the moment, does that count?

BorgWarner manual 3 speed orginally

now got a BorgWarner manual 4 speed and new hump to fit it same top 1 more cog in the middle not as robust as the 3 speed but i can pull away now without slipping the clutch for the first 150 yards

Its aussie

BW4 speed (single rail) box

Used in Leyland P76
Ford falcon 6 and small v8
Aussie ford cortina 6 (its a bit of an animal)
valiants from 72-82

not as strong as US manual boxes but as light as a feather to shift i can shift it with 1 hand from 1st to second :) in less than 30 seconds.

Not just small V8's, Dave. 351's (even in GT's) used the single rail after about 1974, barring a mysterious batch of Top Loaders used in mid 76 for homologation for racing purposes ;) .

blinkin heckers

stronger box than I thought

reconed to be an easy box to rebuild

think the layshaft lengh diameter and no.of splines was different and they upped the no of roller bearings in some places for the 8

do the falcons suffer with the gear stick coming off in your hands like the vals do :) its a nice feature

Had a mk1 escort that used to do that, was a bugger when accelerating down the on ramp to a motorway, flat out in 2nd, clutch, go for 3rd, Bananarama!
