Had some fun at the Mopar Nats

Obviously I couldn't photo myself on the strip but these guys: http://www.blackettphotography.com/index.asp did. Excuse the crappy photo of a photo...

Which resulted in this...

:D

Runs were not so good as the car needs some tuning. First run I missed second gear, doh! Second was best at 16.9 but the carb still hasn't been set up right and under full load there seemed to be fuel startvation so a few gasps and bangs on the way down. Decided to give it all on the third run and the problem was worse so backed off about half way down before I broke something. Still, all good fun though :D

Here's a few updates on the Camaro. sorry about the crappy pics, just taken on a compact.

First of all, bringing the tail lights into the 21st Century. Brighter, faster and easier on the battery. Got these suckers from ebay in the US, plug straight into the bulb holders so easy to fit.

Here's the old, some flaking of paint on the black area of the bezel and dull lenses.

Out they come!

New lights in and paint touched up...

More modernisation inside. Black leather BMW E46 seats. Chosen for their integral three point seatbelts and body hugging support through the twisty bits. These came off ebay, they had been in a police impound after they caught a gang of BMW ringers. They had the evidence number painted on. Didn't like the fact the the OG seats were fixed back with no rake adjustment. The OG mounts have been left so the old seats can go back. Big thanks to my friend Julian for welding and wiring them in. Wiring? Yes they are electric...

Smaller Grant (my namesake) steering wheel fitted now the steering weight feels right with the power steering and works better with the new seating position. Also new head unit fitted that controls my iphone. The wiring runs to the centre console so the phone can be in there charging while the stereo can access the music.

Image

And lastly the electric exhaust cut outs, allowing you to control the volume of the exhaust from a switch on the dash by bypassing the silencer.

Next on the to do list, central locking.

Sweet exhaust choice. I have been stroking my chin and considering a similar solenoid set-up for straight-thrus on the Charger. Tell me, where did you purchase the system?

Dunc you may be right on the steering wheel front but it will do for now.

Thanks DB.

Jonny the cut outs came from Pypes:

I picked them up on the Power Tour in the States as they were doing the kit for $300. Definitely worth getting some, it really is the best of both worlds.
