Here is the full story from Mopar Action Magazine. You learn a LOT about how these cars were supposed to look from reading the details in here.

I think it is great to have something to show how these cars started out in life. Because only then can you really tell how far away from that your own car has become.

Its amazing. I am just astounded that someone would put so much competent attention to detail into recreating an absolute LACK of competent attention to detail. He should be sectioned.

Very impressive but it's quite shocking how much bare metal Mopar had.

One of my customers is restoring a Datsun 260z to the same standard. He is just as obscessed. He comes to me wanting specific bolts with certain markings on, wanting things like brake shoe retaining hardware which has to have a certain shade of zinc, and the other day he bought a complete set of new seatbelts from the wrong car, to canibalise them and use one of the red release buttons on his car because his one had a scratch. That button therefore cost him £70

He is welcome here any time :)

Hope he has a good supply of 2 star petrol and some 1970s air for the tyres.

That is a very pretty looking car with a lovely colour scheme.

Someone bought a nice car in 1970.

Got to agree lovely colour scheme..beautiful car....but why, I'd want to use it

On a recreation SS/AA car i saw in the States the bare metal was painted :? then airbrushed to look like slight surface rusting on bare metal.... 8-) clever and none of the problems
Hope that makes sense

Beautiful car Dave, and thanks for posting it. I have seen cars of practically that standard in the US and always wonder how the hell to maintain it in that condition. Personally I can't see the point of it. I certainly wouldn't want a car I can't drive.

My Challenger convertible is superb - but not in that league. But at least I can (and do) enjoy diving it.
