I do work on the Rig's Clivey, but some of the job's are land rigs. And I normaly have about a week in country preping equipment before I go off-shore to the countrys own rig's. Azerbaijan capital Baku is a good night out on the lash to be honest, it has a big Ex-pat comunity and plenty of English, Scottish and Irish bars. The hookers are fairly cheap too (So I'm told!) The weather just now is 35-39 deg c during the day and anout 25-28 at nights. I'm off-shore just now and have been sunbathing on the Hellideck on the Rigs own Sunloungers, easy money! :thumbright: Kazakhstan I have no idea about but we will defo have our own driver for skooting about and I'm guessing we'll be based on some kind of secure compound? All good fun,eh? I think Moparmark spends alot of time over there, maybe he could fill me in on what to expect?

A good mate of mine is an Oil n Gas instrumentation engineer. After we last worked together on the Jubilee Line Extension Project he went to Khaz, and ended up working inside a concrete fortress in the middle of nowhere. He said it got pretty hairy out there at times, and that wasn't just the local totty.
