Man it was a blast. 8 of us set out. We lost one guy early on. On the way back we almost lost Wayne and would have if i hadn't asked where he was as we drove out of Glenwood Springs. :lol:

You guys will have to wait for video shots as Wayne is putting together a DVD of the trip. We will sort out a few teaser photos soon though. :thumbright:

Ah! I forgot to add the cost of the flights to Heathrow and back from Newcastle. Whatever - it still cost me less than £1000 for a 10 day dream of a lifetime holiday in the US.
The big saving was booking the flights well in advance and shopping around on the internet for them. I got the return flights to Indy for just £360 which was a real bargin.

Here are some photos taken right at the start of the main part of the trip which started in Denver after driving from Indy.

I got to say to have Dave as a travelling buddy was a real pleasure on this trip, it was great to see him laugh so much especially since hes had such a hard time over th past number of years.

Besides winning an award at the Nats this year this trip really cheered him up as well and Id like to think I made him laugh a bit along the way as well!! :thumbright:

Oh and Ivor I have an interview lined up for Connected with Jim who owns the AMX!! :thumbright:

We can post a few but we need to keep some for when our documentary comes out, dont want to spoil everybody just yet hehe!! I watched some of the footage etc earlier.......its amazing and well worth the wait!! :thumbright:

The red one...not so good. But fell in love with the shaker after years of thinking they didn't suit the Challenger at all. I have driven a 4-speed chally before (the one now owned by Philth) and my opinion of that box has not changed. I hate them.

The black one is a real tool. Ultra quick steering, loads of power, handles like a go-kart. I am going to have to fit better shocks on mine. The ride quality in both cars was better due I think to the better shocks. those KYB things are great on a car with otherwise stock suspension but are too harsh when combined with uprated spring rates.
The black ones handling is mainly down to the 17 inch wheels and low profile tyres. You can feel every detail of the road surface but even when we hit snow and ice there was no suggestion of the car loosing grip.

Guys we have some stunning photos but Wayne has put a restraining order on me to stop me showing you any of the good ones just yet. :lol:

They will get posted eventually and i promise they are worth the wait.

There is also a very good chance this is happening again in 2011 because the people in the town of Austin, Nevada (after talking with us) are thinking of putting on an event to mark the 40th anniversary of the release of the film. So if anyone wants to follow in our steps please watch this space as we know just about every location used in the film now and Austin is a really nice town in a really nice part of the state on highway 50 (AKA the loneliest road).
