Good stuff Calvers, I think I understood it!

I've not heard of K&N doing cusom filters, but I would have thought there was some way you could get filter material from them to make one up easily ... not that it matters now :)

On the really serious detonation damage that I have seen, about half the piston looked as though something had been gnawing away at it, but more interestingly, the whole head and valves looked as though they had been sprayed lightly with aluminium.

And there would be bits splashed onto the plug tip too. I forgot that.

Sandy ,thats where the piston starts to melt and the ally particles fuse to other parts
Dave , I think you've answered your question - no filter on the strip :shock:

Probably sucked in part of one of the track oilers that exploded earlier or a bit of grit or something ... I love it when a plan comes together :D

Typical really. Loads of other people do it all the time. :evil:

Me and Linda do it without protection just the once and we get caught out. :shock:
