Finally got my Valve covers powder coated this week, and fitted onto the old barge this morning, I am really pleased with the result, and a big thank you to Anton for cleaning up the Indy logo, I'm sure with my short patience. I would have Bananarama! it up. :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright: Also a big thank you to trev D for making my Ally bits :thumbright: :thumbright: :thumbright:

Cracking breakdown and one hell of a motor! :thumbright:

Jim,
Out of interest are there many issues with boring the block out +60 regards wall thickness and having that much power (stresses and thin walls). Not being funny just generally interested in building techniques and max allowances/power build before going past the point of no return? :thumbright:

Dave, to be honest I'm on the limit with this block but I think +60 on a 440 is ok, as there are plenty of different pistons on sale at this size, I would like to have a mega block but can't afford one at the moment, so must do with what I had, It was a very good block to start with 4 bolt pro gram main caps strengthen the bottom end(Iwas thinking about part fill block fill, but didn't go that route), caps were align bored, block was honed with torque plates, block was decked and thoroughly cleaned, ARP studs used throughout.
I beleave mounting the block on motor plate reduces flex, as you don't have the pulling effect from the engine mounts.

Decided to cut up my perfectly good grill and spare grill today, bit worrying as every piece gets cut to make a A990, took me 4 hors to-do a lot longer than I thought, but I was very apprehensive, well it's done now and there is no going back
