not really done much more as iv'e been more busy with the S800.
i thought though i'd better drain the water as i know it wont have any antifreeze in the system. i couldn't remove the drain plugs so i just drilled the core plugs. while under there i noticed the casting number. its a 318 and dated 1967.
not sure if this is a good or bad thing so a bit of research and it seems the '67 318 should have the forged crank (apparently the only year they did this) the bottom end in standard form is supposed to be good for 6000 rpm so a beefed up top end and camshaft should allow it to rev a bit more. more research to do.
i also unwrapped the front bumper for the first time since i got the car. i'm now going to have to spend a fortune getting the rear bumper to look as shiney.
you can't have too many wheels to chose from can you
Rallyes are 15 inch and the alloys are 14 inch. plan is to convert all the studs to metric to make it easy to get wheel nuts of various designs. the alloy wheels will take Revolution wheel nuts then.
chap has a very nice '68 Barracuda which now has the large PCD. he had to order those Rallyes from America as no one here did them in the small PCD. only on the car for about 8 months.
i jumped in quick once i saw your post as i thought that opportunity may not come up again. it was actually a bonus that they were 15 inch, i new they were chuncky from the photos but would have been happy with 14 inch.
it'll probably spend 90% of the time on the Rallyes and i'll use the Alloys with very low profile tyres for track days etc. cheers for the heads up
i may sell the black steels with the trims and caps as i doubt now they'll ever get used again?
