In all seriousness though, the problem usually stems from someone making up a set on a "car". But tolerances being what they dont get allowed for enough between cars

Even the monaros and the like i do, the engine placement seems to be about +/- 4mm in any direction, to the extent that some are not square in the engine bay. Even the engine mount holes are slotted so you can tweak them.

The mind boggles what tolerances were in the 60's!

Then add in poor manufacturing or a jig without enough or accurate locating points and that will just compound the problem.
