I went to a 'custom' show at the NEC in the early 80's - must have been about then as they were playing Sultans of Swing over the PA - and I saw a plum crazy '70 Challenger (with a white interior) named the "Artful Dodger".
It had purple 'stovepipe' hats embroidered into the head restraint area of the high back 'buckets' (now there's an oxymoron) and I had never seen such a cool looking, wide, flat car with quad headlamps before - or since come to think of it.
I have eventually, after a 30 year wait, got a Sublime '70 all of my own.
I believe the "Dodger" has changed hands and colour since our first meeting but if anyone knows it - or OWNS it - I'd be chuffed to know.

For me it was seeing the Big Blue and Silver checker Roadrunner run at Santa Pod - just so much attitude....
It was brilliant to see it again at the Nats this year, shame it has been back-halved.........

The Artful Dodger was a local car, Jeff used to know the owner (John Jemmet?) I met him a few times way back when, not one of my favourite people. He had a custom painted Mach 1 before that, "Heartbreaker", no doubt daddy paid for that as well...

I believe it has been a Nats trophy winner at some point too. Pete, the owner, also has a blue Pro Street '70 SE.
